Why Kids Should Test

Figure skating in the U.S. can be either competitive or recreational, and those learning to skate can choose either route. While competitive skaters are required to participate in the U.S. testing structure to compete in qualifying competitions (Individual or Synchronized), recreational skaters can also opt to take tests in order to continually challenge themselves and their abilities.

USFSA Testing Requirements

In order to test USFSA, there 2 requirements that you must meet.
1. You must be a USFSA member
2. You must have a private coach.

For other testing level requirements, please visit www.usfsa.org

Upcoming Test Session Info

Skating Season 2011-12, the Northern Lights Figure Skating Board of Directors has generously agreed to pay for the first two tests that our current members (in good standing) take, at either one of our clubs test sessions in December and March.  The club will pay for the first two most expensive tests.  You may not save a free test for spring if you test 2 or more events this December.  The only way to use free tests in the Spring is if you do not test this December or only test 1 event this December.  Please note: If testing Dance, this does not apply  to practice ice with the Dance Partner.  If you have any questions on this benefit or USFSA testing in general --- please contact Jenny Estad at 218-779-8628 or email below.

*Consult with your Private Coach to ensure that your child is ready to test. Please do not push your child to test if the coach feels that your child is not quite ready.  There will additional opportunities available as long as these offers are not abused.  Thank you!
