U.S. FIGURE SKATING REQUIREMENTS TO TEST

In order to participate in a U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned test session, the following requirements must be met.

1. Must be a registered U.S. Figure Skating member
2. Must have a USFS registered private coach
3. Must be a registered NLFSC Member - (to get in club/associate rates)

NOTE: Per U.S. Figure Skating Rule 4003: "[Certain] tests, when marked “retry,” may not be retaken prior to the 13th day following the date of the original test. Example: A test taken on May 1 and marked “retry” may not be retaken before May 14, the 14th being the 13th day following the date of the original test. 


REQUIREMENTS FOR USFS TEST FORMS:

  • USFS Test forms must be signed by your TEST CHAIR  in order to Test at a USFSA Test Session. 
  • In Club Test Session: Upon receiving your registration form the NLFSC test chair will verify your registration.
  • Out of Club Test Session:  If you plan to test at an outside club, you will be required to have a 'USFS Permission To Test Form'  

Email the following information to one of the officials listed below:

  - Skaters Name
  - USFS #
  - Club they plan to test at
  - When they last tested at a test session
  - What they plan to test; list all tests including names of dances.

You will receive, by e-mail, a copy of the permission to test form.  In addition, they will email the form on to the club at which your skater will be testing.  IMPORTANT: To be safe, always bring a copy to the test session.  

** Update: Per U.S. Figure Skating Rule TR 2.03: "All tests, when marked ‘retry,’ may not be retaken prior to the 27th day following the date of the original test. Example: A test taken on May 1 and marked ‘retry’ may not be retaken before May 28, the 28th being the 27th day following the date of the original test. For the purposes of this rule, a moves in the field test taken as a masters candidate is considered the same as the same level moves in the field test taken as an adult or standard candidate. If a candidate is submitting an IJS protocol from a U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned nonqualifying competition for test credit, the waiting period does not apply."
