Events include: Free Skate, Compulsory, Short Program, Spins, Solo Dance and Dramatic and Light Entertainment Showcase Events.  Skaters range in age from 5-18 and represent numerous skating clubs from around the region. The Individual Competition is located at the VFW Arena in EGF. Competition times are: Thursday evening from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Click here for the full schedule.  Admission is free.

Along with the Individual Competition is a Synchronized Skating Competition. On an average, 20-25 synchronized skating teams come here to compete and show off their amazing skills.  The synchronized skating competition is held on Saturday, January 6th, beginning at 7:20 p.m. at the EGF Civic Center. Click here for the full schedule. Admission is $5.

For both the Individual and Synchronized Skating competitions, approximately 12-16 judges and officials come from all over the United States. These individuals provide their skating expertise on a volunteer basis. NLFSC pays their expenses to get them to our competition and while they are here for the duration of the competition.

Northern Star takes approximately 1 year to plan and organize. This competition is an organized effort between Parents, Coaches, Skaters and Volunteers who donate their time to make this competition a success from year to year.
